A Day to Remember — King’s Kids Boys Join the Africa Day Celebrations

Some of the best days at King’s Kids don’t happen in a classroom.

Twelve of our boys were recently invited to join Little Einstein Montessori School and Einsteins Academy for their belated Africa Day celebrations — and with schools adjusting their schedules around exams, our boys were lucky enough to be free to take part in what turned into a genuinely special afternoon.

The celebration opened with the national anthem, followed by learners from Pre-Nursery right up through Primary School taking to the stage to showcase everything they’d researched about different African countries — Zimbabwe, Egypt, Angola, Sudan and Malawi among them. Through dance, presentations and recitations, our boys picked up bits of trivia most of us never learned in school: African currencies, tourist attractions, traditional foods, national dress, and the leaders — past and present — who’ve shaped the continent.

It was a joyful reminder of just how rich and diverse Africa really is, and a chance for our boys to feel proud of an identity that’s often overlooked.

A shout-out that meant a lot

One moment stood out above the rest: Director Nazrana Abdul took a moment during the event to give King’s Kids a special shout-out in front of everyone — making our boys feel seen, welcomed and genuinely part of the celebration.

Afterwards, the boys had the run of the school playground — laughing, playing, and simply being kids. One small boy summed up the whole afternoon perfectly when he was overheard singing:

“Thank you for rain, thank you for sunshine, thank you for joy, it’s a beautiful day!”

It really was. A huge thank you to Little Einstein Montessori School and Einsteins Academy for their generosity and warmth towards our boys — days like this remind us how much good can come from a community pulling together for its children.
